Main Ingredients
  • 1 16 ounce package Coleslaw Mix
  • 1 15 ounce can Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon Celery Seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 2 medium, cored and diced Honeycrisp or Fuji Apples
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Pecans or Walnuts optional

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl

Method

Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, cranberry sauce, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, Dijon mustard, celery seed, salt, and pepper.
  2. Gently stir in the diced apples and pecans or walnuts (if using).
  3. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. You may want to add more sugar, vinegar, or salt depending on your preference.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. For best results, refrigerate for several hours or even overnight to allow the flavors to fully develop.
  6. Before serving, give the coleslaw a gentle stir.
  7. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

For a sweeter coleslaw, increase the sugar to 3 tablespoons. You can also substitute other nuts, such as chopped almonds or walnuts, for the pecans. If you prefer a tangier flavor, add a tablespoon more of apple cider vinegar.
