- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy. An electric mixer can be used for easier blending.
- Beat in the milk and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gently stir in the cranberry sauce and orange zest (if using) until evenly distributed.
- Fold in the chopped nuts (if using).
- Pour the mixture into an 8x8 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is heated through and bubbly around the edges. Do not overbake.
- Let the dip cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with crackers, graham crackers, pretzels, or your favorite chips.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use full-fat cream cheese. You can also add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dip for a warm spice note. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
