Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 14 ounce can Sweetened condensed milk
  • 0.5 cup (1 stick) Unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup Rainbow sprinkles optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • 8x8 inch baking dish
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • Parchment Paper

Method

Instructions
  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk, butter, and salt. Stir constantly until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning. The mixture will thicken slightly.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the powdered sugar and flour, mixing until a smooth dough forms. Be sure to remove any lumps.
  6. Stir in the rainbow sprinkles, if using.
  7. Press the fudge mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  9. Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use brown butter instead of regular butter. You can also add other mix-ins like chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or cookie dough pieces.
