Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs Russet Potatoes Peeled and quartered
  • 1/2 cup Milk Whole milk recommended, but any kind works
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 6 Garlic Cloves Minced (or more, to taste!)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt Or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper Or to taste
  • 2 tbsp Heavy Cream Optional, for extra creaminess
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley Chopped, for garnish (optional)

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Potato Masher
  • Mixing Bowl (optional)

Method

Instructions
  1. Place potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until potatoes are easily pierced with a fork.
  3. Drain the potatoes well.
  4. Return potatoes to the pot. Add butter, milk, heavy cream (if using), and minced garlic.
  5. Mash with a potato masher or electric mixer until smooth and creamy. You can leave some lumps for a chunkier texture.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add more milk if needed to reach desired consistency.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley (optional) and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, roast the garlic cloves before mincing. You can also add other herbs and spices, such as chives, thyme, or rosemary.
