Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 14-ounce can Sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup Creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips Optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt Optional, to enhance flavor

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • 8x8 inch baking dish
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • Parchment Paper

Method

Instructions
  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine sweetened condensed milk, peanut butter, and butter. Stir constantly until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt (if using).
  4. Gradually add the powdered sugar, stirring vigorously until a smooth, thick mixture forms. This will require some effort!
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips (if using) until melted and evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  8. Lift the fudge out of the dish using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate chips. Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
