- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the sausage over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the onion and celery to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, sausage mixture, broth, sage, thyme, rosemary, salt, pepper, and parsley (if using). Gently toss to combine.
- Melt butter in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour the stuffing mixture into the prepared dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and heated through.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use homemade chicken broth. You can also add other vegetables like chopped carrots or mushrooms. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
