Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisking until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat. Pour ΒΌ cup of batter onto the hot griddle for each pancake.
- While the pancakes are cooking and slightly set, place 8 chocolate chips in a circle around the edges of each pancake to form the spider's legs.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Flip carefully using a spatula.
- While the pancakes are still warm, use melted black candy melts to draw a small circle in the center of each pancake for the spider's body. Let the candy melt set completely.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your spooky spider pancakes!
Notes
For extra spooky fun, add a few sprinkles of red candy melts to simulate blood on the spider's body. You can also use different types of candy melts for the spider's body to create more variety!
