Instructions
- Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
- In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms. Use your hands if needed.
- Roll the dough into small oval shapes for the turkey bodies. Pinch off small pieces for the heads and attach them to one end of the ovals.
- Place the turkey cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
- Melt white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl according to package directions. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled cookies to resemble feathers.
- While the chocolate is still wet, add mini chocolate chips for the eyes, candy corn for the wattles, and red and orange M&Ms for the legs.
- Allow the cookies to sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to set before serving.
Notes
For easier handling, chill the dough for 15-20 minutes before shaping the turkeys. You can also use other candies for decoration, such as sprinkles or small pretzel sticks.
